7 day Transylvanian Expedition
This seven day tour will be an experience of a lifetime, and we will introduce you to the magnificence of the Carpathians.
Day 1: Bucharest – Transylvania
Your Transylvanian 4x4 Tour scheduled itinerary begins upon your arrival at Bucharest International Airport. From here you will be met and driven to the village of Ojdula.
For the first night of your adventure you will be booked into a local guest house. After sampling the local cuisine there will be an opportunity to meet your local guide.
Day 2: The Village of Ojdula
After breakfast with your guide we will head for the mountains to take in the marvellous scenery and fresh air. We will pass through the mountain settlement of Comandau on a circular tour through the forest. We will stop for a picnic lunch next to a river before returning to Ojdula late afternoon. After dinner we will join an armed ranger and travel to a bear hide to find the Carpathian brown bear. There are many bears in this part of Transylvania so we will do everything we can to maximise your chances of seeing a bear in the wild.
Your second night will also be spent in Cernat.
Day 3+4: Transylvania Castle, Miclosoara
After breakfast we will pack the Land Rover and drive to Miclosoara to the unique estate of Count Kalnoky. Here you will relax and stay for two nights in traditional guesthouses with antique furniture. Here the estate of the Count takes great pride in providing their guests with the highest standards of comfort in the country.
During your stay here you will have the opportunity to visit medieval frescoes, sulphur caves, and fortresses.
Day 5: Medieval town of Sighisoara
After breakfast we will make our way to the famous medieval Saxon town of Sighisoara. After checking in to your very comfortable accommodation at a local guest house you will join your guide for a three hour walking tour of the town. This is a most enjoyable experience and will provide you with fascinating facts and a wonderful opportunity to take photographs of this unique historic and cultural centre in Transylvania.
Day 6: Horse riding at Edelweiss Farm
After breakfast you will board the Land Rover for the short drive to Edelweiss farm. You will spend the day horse riding through local valleys along open and forested tracks. Picnic lunch will be provided at a scenic location. Be careful not to share too much of this with your horse as you will need to boost your energy for the ride home!
The day will start with a 20 minute assessment of your riding and then you will be matched with the most suitable horse.
Day 7: Sighisoara – Bucharest
After breakfast and bidding a fond farewell to your guide, you are personally transferred to Bucharest Airport.
