About us

My name is Paul White, and I operate an exciting company which offers tours into the heart of Transylvania. We specialise in overland and wildlife tours with personal guide assistance and offer individualised itinerary planning. From 2009 we will be expanding our business to include 4x4 mechanical services and parts distribution for Land Rovers. We always offer a friendly personal service and our prices are hard to beat on value for money.

We can cater for all tastes including; off road tours, wildlife viewing, walking tours, cycling, rock climbing, cultural and historical tours, team building and adventure training. Our tours don’t stop after the summer season. Transylvania offers so much in the winter too. Why not visit when there is deep snow. We can arrange skiing holidays and relaxing winter retreats.

My home is in the village of Ojdula near the town of Targu Secuiesc in the county of Covasna. So I am usually onsite and available to assist you in any way I can.

My first trip to Transylvania was in 1993, when I was part of a medical team taking supplies to the local district general hospital in Targu Secuiesc. It was after this first visit that I knew I would have a life long connection with Transylvania and within a month I returned, and started work in the hospital. One year later I moved to the nearby village of Ojdula, where I worked in a local two doctor general practice offering primary health care. My other work commitments included teaching nurses at a college in Sfintu Gheorghe. All my work at that time was on a voluntary basis, which I financed myself by periodically returning to the UK to work for a Nursing agency.

I am a Registered Nurse with 23 years experience, working in Western Europe, Ethiopia, and rural Transylvania. I have also advised on Expedition preparation and training, which lead to my nomination and subsequent election as Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in 1992.

I have always been a Land Rover enthusiast and it was my dream to combine this interest with my passion for travel and my love of Transylvania. So it is always my pleasure to drive guests through remote villages and forests, well away from the usual tourist trails.

The people of Transylvania are some of the most hospitable, warm and friendly people of Europe. To get a flavour of this hospitality we will combine staying at guest houses with camping in the great outdoors. Guests have commented that many of their lasting memories will be of neighbours inviting them round to share in some food and drink, discussing the similarities and differences in the way we live. We encourage these cultural exchanges by offering translators, which have proved a real hit for the villagers too!

Transylvania is one of the least known areas on this continent, which has a rich history and culture. Vast forests contain the largest European brown bear population, along with a healthy population of wolves. The flora and fauna is wide and varied and attracts enthusiasts from all over the world. Seasons are varied, but at all times of the year there will be tours that offer something new and different.
